The Bill & Sandra Pomeroy Scholarship, available only to children of CXtec and TERACAI employees, began in 2005 from the suggestion of employees participating in a company leadership development program. Founder and CEO William G. Pomeroy decided the scholarship amount should be increased from the original amount of $1000 to $2500 to lessen the financial burden on the family and to better account for recent and future tuition hikes.

Applicants must demonstrate how the CXtec and TERACAI core values will ensure their future success. Applicants are also considered based on their academic achievements, extracurricular and community involvement, references and personal goals. Nicholas was chosen out of six candidates to receive this year's scholarship.

"The CXtec and TERACAI core values of honesty and integrity, teamwork, entrepreneurial spirit, resourcefulness and being committed to the community define who we are and how we do business," said Pomeroy. "Nicholas clearly demonstrates these not only in his exceptional academic record, but also through his extracurricular activities, volunteer work and future career goals."

This fall, Smith will be attending University at Buffalo majoring in PharmD/MBA, a combined program of the School of Management and the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
