Crouse Hospital is renaming its soon-to-be expanded emergency department after local businessman William Pomeroy and his wife, Sandra. Pomeroy is the founder and CEO of CXtec and TERACAI, companies that provide networking and communications equipment.

Fifteen buildings in the Syracuse area, including TERACAI and CXtec, are lighting up red or displaying red decorations to spread a message of heart health. Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of women, with 1 in 3 women dying of heart disease and stroke every year, according to the American Heart Association.
CNYCentral is teaming up with TERACAI, CXtec and the CNY Food Bank for the Food Bank Telethon. The goal is the help feed the hungry. The event is Thursday, Jan. 28 from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. All funds raised will benefit the CNY Food Bank.
